Turning 10 is kind of a Big Dill: A Pickle Themed Birthday Party

Turning 10 is kind of a big deal and what better way to celebrate this milestone birthday than with a pickle party? Being a big pickle lover- that’s exactly what my niece picked for her special day. The theme was pickles, pickles, and more pickles – from pickled flavored food to homemade pickles in personalized jars and finished off with a pickle-shaped cake!

How about this adorable pickle-themed cake? It was a beautifully decorated cake that looked like a giant pickle, complete with green icing and matching pickle cupcakes. Although not pickled flavored, the icing was the perfect tint of green, a cute face and a little shimmer. The cupcakes had cupcake toppers that were just adorable!

It wouldn’t be a party without a pickle-themed menu that featured all kinds of pickled treats. To start there were 5 different kinds of pickles: Gherkin, Dill, Sour, Spicy, and Bread&Butter! Also, Pickle popcorn and pickle potato chips. We even had fried pickles with pickled-flavored ranch dip! The girls had a blast trying all the different flavors and discovering which ones they liked best. It was a pickle lover’s dream come true!

The decorations for this party included the balloon arch (so easy to do if you have an electric pump to blow up the balloons!) the bright green #10 balloons, some pickle stickers, and some green leafy table clothes.

But the highlight of the party was when the girls got to make their own pickles. Each girl had her own jar and a selection of fresh cucumbers, dill, garlic, and spices to choose from. They followed a simple recipe card with instructions on how to make the perfect pickle. It was a fun and interactive activity that allowed the girls to get creative and experiment with different flavors.

Each girl has a personalized Jar with their name, a little whisk, a personalized recipe card and a little pickled theme pouch to carry everything in. It was a big hit!

The pickle party was a huge success and a birthday celebration that the girls would never forget. It was a day filled with laughter, friendship, and of course, lots of pickles. Turning 10 may be a big dill, but with the right group of friends, pickles, laughter, and friendship, it’s a celebration worth savoring. Cheers to pickles and many more years of pickle-filled fun!
